Sunil Kumar Kundu is an eminent name in the world of business leaders in North Bengal. With prolonged vision and zeal, Mr. Sunil Kumar Kundu has achieved what many of us just went on dreaming of. He extended his business domain to sectors like fertilisers, tea gardens, cement, and hotels and built a successful business career.
The journey started in 1968, when Mr.Kundu, after a Master's in History, came to Siliguri with his father from Bangladesh. Struggling for 4-5 years, he finally got a dealership from the Fertiliser Corporation of India. Chemical fertiliser faced strong opposition from traditional farmers in those days. But gradually, they start trusting him.
Being one of the pioneers of fertiliser industries in North Bengal, he reached almost every corner of agriculture-based business- farmers, retailers, and tea garden owners by developing a network from Malda to Coochbehar. Well known as the first and oldest dealer of Paras Brand, Mr.Kundu got the support of several companies and merchants to achieve his business goals.
From 1970 to 1980, he started nurturing another dream of a tea estate industry which turned into a reality in 1989 when he established his tea garden. Spreading over 600 acres, the tea garden in the Rajganj block under the Jalpaiguri District is another trace of his knowledgeable mind.
With a glorious presence of 50 years in fertilizer trading and a long-praised career in cement business, his impeccable passion for business has pushed him to unroll a 4-star hotel, Sunhill Portico. The guiding light for his three sons, Mr. Sunil Kumar Kundu has shown the world that nothing is impossible with determination and dreams.
